Abnormally Funny People

Every August, Edinburgh is invaded by Festival goers, and 2005 was no different...or was it?

One show in particular attracted lots of attention. Abnormally Funny People was a show with a difference - it showcased five disabled comedians and one 'normally funny guy'.

Starring in the show were Chris McCausland, Simon Minty, Liz Carr, Steve Best, Tanyalee Davis and Steve Day. Their performances were so popular that the show was attended by 2,700 people over the 29 nights it ran, selling out on 3 occasions.

Sky sponsored this hilarious comedy, and staff from our contact centres volunteered to run through the streets of Edinburgh, in bright red T-shirts, handing out flyers promoting the event. Towards the end of its run the show was selling fast due to the rave reviews it was receiving, and the volunteers were almost surplus to requirements. Undeterred, the volunteers continued to go out night after night to promote the show.

Thanks to all who took part in helping to make this fantastic production a runaway success.
