Quick checklist before you start

  • New viewing card to hand
  • Set top box plugged in for at least 24 hours?
  • No programmes are being recorded

On screen prompts will guide you through the process

Step 1

With your TV and Sky box turned on with the green light showing, simply pull out the existing card form the viewing card slot. If you can't find the viewing slot then it may be hidden by a protective flap.

REMOVE
OLD CARD

Old card
Wait 5 secs

INSERT
NEW CARD

New card

Find your card viewing slot

Step 2

Then insert your new card into the same slot with the arrows showing on top of the card and the card pointing towards the box

Wait for a few seconds until you see this on-screen message.

ON SCREEN MESSAGES

For your information - Initialising new Sky viewing card
For your information - Authorising new Sky viewing card. Please wait

Step 3

You'll then see a message confirming your new card is working. Now just press BACK UP on your remote control.

ON SCREEN MESSAGE

For your information - Card changeover complete press backup to continue

That's it; you can now continue viewing as normal.
Important - don't destroy your old viewing card until you've successfully changed your card.
